Dr Nev Hooper BVSc (Hons) MANZCVS (SAS)

Veterinarian

Nev originally hails from South Gippsland where her father was a dairy cattle veterinarian and she grew up “holding cow guts out of the mud”. She moved to sunny Queensland for her veterinary degree and graduated from the University of Qld in 1997 as dux of her year and with a University Medal.

Nev has worked in numerous large and small animal practices throughout Australia and the UK treating everything from horses to hamsters. She loves surgery and in 2005 achieved membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientist by examination in small animal surgery.

Nev is also passionate about emergency medicine having spent a number of years working night shifts at an Animal Emergency Centre while her children were babies (she wasn’t getting any sleep anyway).

In 2014, Nev completed a post graduate course in small animal ultrasonography which has further broadened her diagnostic skills.

As a new owner of North Geelong Veterinary Clinic, Nev is happy to be staying put for the next 30 years and looks forward to meeting you and your gorgeous pets.
